This painting began as part of a prophetic art training night. It was a dark mysterious sunset silhouetting a leafless tree. However, I sensed an inexplicable freedom that did not match the image. I painted more light and life, then I ‘saw’ the swing, thinking again that to swing off over the rocks did not make sense.
The Lord reminded me of how we are to approach things set before us. Every situation comes with a promise and a provision. That is our hope. Let us not grow tired or impatient with situations, but be filled with excited anticipation, just as a child approaches a swing without one thought of the impossible. The child does not settle for ‘no’, does not settle for the ‘ordinary’, but it filled with wonder for the more joy to come.
Remember hope rises above circumstances. When our life is surrendered to the Lord, it can change as dramatically as the painting. Spring always follows winter. The tree in bloom is a reminder that there’s always a new season coming. With each season people will come, and go, represented by the swing being empty.
As this was begun in a training session, it also aligns with the calling to train people. The prophetic promise is the gift of guidance, reminding us to impart our knowledge and experience, leading people to blossom beautifully, and in turn to fulfil their calling.
The painting carries ‘joy and peace’. There is absolute trust in jumping off the swing. You don’t see the rocks below, you ignore the danger of swinging right on the edge, and you only see the field of wildflowers across the water.
I sense the Lord saying, do not think twice about living on the edge, as that is where He has placed you, with the purpose of bringing joy and peace and overflowing hope. The joy that partners with hope and trust is truly your strength.
Technically-speaking, our prints are not prints at all, not in the common use of the term, but are fine art reproductions of original works. Canon Lucia EX pigment inks achieve an “under glass” permanence of 95 years for colour images.
Giclee can be confusing, as many may incorrectly assume that all digital printing is equal. Essentially Giclee (pronounced ‘zhee-clay’) is an invented name from the French word ‘le gicleur’ meaning ‘to squirt’. Originally coined in 1991 to distinguish between common digital prints and the highest quality form of art reproductions using wide-format inkjet printing technology. In 30 years, this technology has advanced enormously, giving an even wider distinction between Giclee reproductions and digital prints. However, we still use the word ‘print’ so that we are easily understood.
Fine Art Giclee Reproductions should be framed behind glass, using a matte to separate them from the glass.
