“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me” …

This one is personal, painted at The Gathering, at Colours of Hope, it began with simply getting lost in worship and offering up the coloured pastes on my fingers to the Lord in random abandon. The worship was sweet and intense and I felt His presence and His pleasure upon me, then I started to see a valley-like shape and heard the whisper “…the valley of the shadow of death…” And my heart began to weep for Graeme Westwood and Lachlan Burleigh and my mind could not fathom these random acts of life and death and I began to see a “washing” through the centre of the painting so I pulled white paint down into it until I felt His presence was “in the valley”. I painted this through tears and I see tears in the painting, and I see the ‘random’, and forfeiting understand, and I also see a healing rest and a peace in “for thou art with me”.
